Welcome to Ask Anon. By using the Ask Anon mobile application (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Ask Anon is a privacy-focused AI assistant that provides:

• AI-powered responses to your questions
• Image and document analysis
• Private, encrypted local conversation storage
• Anonymous usage — no account required

3. No Account Required

Unlike most apps, Ask Anon does not require you to create an account. You can use the App immediately without providing any personal information. This means:

• No registration or sign-in process
• No email or password to remember
• Your conversations cannot be synced across devices
• If you lose your device or delete the App, your conversations are permanently lost

4. Important Disclaimers

Not Professional Advice: Ask Anon is for informational purposes only. The App does not provide:

• Medical advice — consult a healthcare professional
• Legal advice — consult a licensed attorney
• Financial advice — consult a qualified financial advisor
• Mental health counseling — contact a mental health professional

AI Limitations:

• AI responses may contain errors or inaccuracies
• The AI's knowledge may be outdated
• Complex topics may require human expert verification
• Always verify important information from authoritative sources

Emergency Situations: Ask Anon is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, experiencing a medical emergency, or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact emergency services (911 in the US) or a crisis hotline immediately.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Generate harmful, illegal, or unethical content
• Attempt to extract dangerous information (weapons, illegal activities, etc.)
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Distribute malware or malicious content
• Attempt to circumvent content safety measures
• Overload or disrupt our services
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

We reserve the right to rate-limit or block access for users who violate these terms.

6. Content Moderation

Ask Anon includes content moderation to:

• Prevent generation of harmful content
• Block illegal requests
• Maintain a safe user experience

The AI may refuse to respond to certain requests. This is by design for safety.

7. Local Data Storage

Your conversation data is stored locally on your device:

• Data is encrypted using strong encryption (AES-256)
• You can set an optional passphrase for additional security
• We do not have access to your local data
• Deleting the App permanently removes all local data

8. Usage Limits

Ask Anon offers both free and premium tiers:

• Free tier: Daily message limits apply to ensure fair access for all users
• Anon Pro: Unlimited messaging (within reasonable use) with no daily limits
• Rate limiting protects the service for all users
• Excessive or abusive usage may result in throttling or temporary restrictions

We use a device fingerprint (not personally identifying) to enforce these limits fairly.

9. Subscriptions and Payments

Anon Pro: Premium subscription with unlimited private AI conversations.

• Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings
• No refunds for partial subscription periods
• We do not directly collect or store your payment information

Your subscription status is verified using a device identifier. We do not link subscriptions to personal accounts since Ask Anon requires no sign-in.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding your conversations), is owned by Distributed Technologies LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App.

You retain full ownership of your conversations. We make no claim to content you create.

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. In summary:

• We collect no personal information
• We do not store your conversations
• We process messages only to generate responses
• Your privacy is protected by design

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• AI responses will be accurate, complete, or reliable
• The App will meet your specific requirements
• Your local data will never be lost or corrupted

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISTRIBUTED TECHNOLOGIES LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:

• Loss of data or conversations
• Decisions made based on AI responses
• Inability to access or use the App
• Any other matter relating to the App

BECAUSE ASK ANON IS A FREE SERVICE, OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO $0.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Distributed Technologies LLC from any claims arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

15. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Because we don't have your contact information, please review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

16. Termination

We may discontinue the App or restrict access at any time without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by simply deleting it.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except for claims in small claims court.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
