Distributed Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Ask Anon mobile application (the "App"). Ask Anon is designed with privacy as its core principle. This Privacy Policy explains our minimal data practices.

Our Privacy Commitment

Ask Anon is built for users who prioritize privacy. Unlike most apps, we:

• Require no account — No email, no sign-in, no personal information needed
• Store conversations only on your device — We have no access to your chat history
• Encrypt local storage — Your conversations are encrypted with your optional passphrase
• Minimize data collection — We collect only what's necessary to process your requests

What We Do NOT Collect

Unlike other apps, Ask Anon does NOT collect:

• Your name, email, or any account information
• Your conversation history (stored only on your device)
• Your location
• Your contacts or phone data
• Tracking cookies or advertising identifiers
• Analytics about your behavior in the app

What We Process Temporarily

When you send a message, we temporarily process:

• Your message: Transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our AI servers to generate a response
• Images you send: Processed to analyze and respond, then discarded
• Device fingerprint: A non-identifying hash used only for rate limiting

Critical Privacy Information:

• Messages are processed in real-time and are not logged or stored on our servers
• We do not maintain conversation history on our end
• The device fingerprint cannot identify you personally
• We apply content moderation for safety, but do not log conversation content

Local Encrypted Storage

Your conversation history is stored locally on your device using strong encryption:

• Conversations are encrypted using industry-standard encryption (AES-256)
• You can optionally set a passphrase for additional protection
• If you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed
• We cannot recover your conversations — only you have access

How Your Messages Are Processed

When you send a message:

1. Your message is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
2. Our server receives your message temporarily
3. The AI model (Meta Llama via Cloudflare Workers) generates a response
4. The response is sent back to your device
5. Your message is discarded from server memory — we do not log it

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services:

• Cloudflare: Hosting and content delivery (Privacy Policy)
• Meta Llama AI: AI model processing (via Cloudflare Workers AI — no persistent storage)
• RevenueCat: Subscription management for Anon Pro (Privacy Policy) — processes only device identifier and subscription status, no personal information
• Apple App Store / Google Play: Payment processing for subscriptions — we never see your payment details

We do NOT use:

• Analytics services (no Google Analytics, no Firebase)
• Advertising networks
• Social sign-in (no Google, no Apple, no Facebook)
• Crash reporting services that log user data

Device Fingerprinting for Rate Limiting

To prevent abuse while maintaining anonymity, we generate a device fingerprint:

• This is a cryptographic hash that cannot identify you personally
• It's used only to enforce fair usage limits
• We do not link it to any personal information
• It cannot be used to track you across apps or websites

Data Security

We implement strong security measures:

• All network communication uses TLS 1.3 encryption
• Local data is encrypted with AES-256
• We do not store data that could be breached
• Our servers process requests ephemerally — no logs, no persistent storage

Children's Privacy

Ask Anon is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly provide services to children under 13. Because we collect no personal information, we have no way to verify user age. Parents should supervise their children's device usage.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion) are simplified:

• Access & Deletion: Your data is on your device — you control it completely
• Portability: Export your conversations from the app at any time
• Erasure: Delete the app to remove all local data permanently

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident:

• We do not collect personal information as defined by the CCPA
• We do not sell any data
• We do not share data for targeted advertising

International Users

Your messages are processed on servers that may be located in the United States. However, because we do not store your data, international data transfer concerns are minimized.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Because we don't have your contact information, please check this page periodically.
